HSA Seizes More Than $200,000 Worth of E-vaporisers in Two Cases
On 28 February and 1 March 2025, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) successfully seized more than $200,000 worth of e-vaporisers that were meant for sale in Singapore. The seizures prevented these prohibited items from entering the local market and causing harm.
2 On 28 February 2025, HSA acted swiftly to investigate a shipment of e-vaporisers that was discovered at a warehouse in Sungei Kadut. The consignment comprised 25 cartons containing around 5,000 e-vaporisers valued at approximately $110,000.
3 HSA mounted an operation on the same day and caught two men, aged 32 and 31, who came to collect the e-vaporisers. They are currently assisting with investigations.
4 On 1 March 2025, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers at Tuas Checkpoint directed a lorry entering Singapore for enhanced checks. During the checks, officers uncovered around 4,800 e-vaporisers hidden among the cargo consignment in the lorry. The e-vaporisers had an estimated value of $105,000. The case was referred to HSA and the male driver of the lorry, aged 24, is assisting HSA with investigations.
5 These successful detections demonstrate the Government’s commitment to combat the illegal import and distribution of prohibited e-vaporisers and the strong partnerships by multiple government agencies to enable a strict stance against these harmful products. Please refer to the Annex for photos of the seized items.
