CooperVision Recalls Specific Lots of Biofinity Sphere Monthly Disposable Contact Lenses

CooperVision has reported a recall of specific lots of their Biofinity sphere monthly disposable contact lenses. CooperVision is taking this action as a limited number of blisters were found to contain foreign particles. This recall only applies to the -7.00 diopter products with the following product lot number:

•       12908000914028

•       12908050243028

•       12908050254028

•       12908050265028

The product lot number can be found on the back of the carton (figure 1) and blister foil (figure 2) as shown below:

2        In total, 11,868 pieces of the affected lens have been supplied in Singapore. To date, the Health Sciences Authority has not received any adverse event reports associated with the affected contact lenses.

3        Consumers are advised not to use the products from the affected lots. Consumers are advised to seek medical attention immediately if they experience any eye irritation with the affected products.
