Trend in reported tibial plateau fractures involving Cementless Oxford Partial Knee Unicompartmental Knee Replacement System

Zimmer Biomet would like to inform healthcare professionals of a trend in reported tibial plateau fractures involving Cementless Oxford Partial Knee Unicompartmental Knee Replacement System, based on an analysis of complaint rates that identified a world-wide occurrence of 0.12%. An investigation into the cause of the reported tibial plateau fractures has revealed the importance of following certain steps described in the applicable surgical technique to reduce the risk of tibial plateau fractures. Healthcare professionals are reminded to adhere to the applicable surgical technique and the appropriate sections in the Instruction for Use. They are also advised to observe the recommended care points on the preparation of the device and patient management. Please refer to the letter for details.
