Risk of non-melanoma skin cancer associated with use of hydrochlorothiazide

A Dear Healthcare Professional Letter has been issued by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), in consultation with its Product Vigilance Advisory Committee, to update healthcare professionals on the outcome of its review regarding the risk of non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) associated with hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) use. HSA is working with the companies to strengthen the local package inserts of HCTZ-containing products to warn of the potential risk of NMSC.
