Levonorgestrel Intrauterine Delivery System - Mirena®: Information about observed inversely mounted insertion tube

Bayer (South East Asia) Pte Ltd would like to inform healthcare professionals of the possibility of Mirena® inserters having an incorrectly mounted insertion tube, resulting in the insertion depth scale being inverted. This may potentially lead to incorrect insertion depth and an incorrect position of Mirena® and may decrease the effectiveness of Mirena® or result in adverse events. Healthcare professionals are advised to thoroughly check the inserter prior to use. Please refer to the letter for details.
