Velcade® (Bortezomib): Potential Risk of Cracked/Broken Vials

Janssen, a division of Johnson & Johnson Pte Ltd, has issued a Dear Healthcare Professional Letter to inform healthcare professionals to the potential risk of cracked/broken VELCADE® vials. Janssen has recently received two overseas complaints relating to cracked/broken VELCADE® vials and upon further  inspecting their internal secondary packaging process and prior to the release of the product into the market, four additional broken/cracked VELCADE® vials were detected. Healthcare professionals are advised to take the following actions when dispensing/preparing VELCADE® injection, including inspecting the VELCADE® vial for any cracks or other forms of damage. Healthcare professionals are advised to refer to the letter for further details.

Step 1: Scroll down to the bottom navigation panel of the HPP web page. Under the Healthcare Professionals section, expand the dropdown option for ‘Healthcare Professional Portal’ and select your profession. You will be redirected to the specific HPP web page to log in.

Step 2: Click on the Restricted Content icon on the left panel of the web page and log in via SingPass.

Step 3: Click on the MOH Alert icon under the ‘Applications’ section.

Step 4: Click on the Drug Alert tab to view the DHCPLs.
