Scope of services

We offer testing services for the following products:

Cigarettes
  • Tar
  • Nicotine
  • Total particulate matter

Submitting samples for testing

To request a test, you need the following:

Forms and letters You are required to submit the following documents:
  1. Request for Testing Service from Cigarette Testing Laboratory-Local
  2. Request for Testing Service from Cigarette Testing Laboratory-Overseas
  3. Written request for the test from a regulatory authority, if any.
  4. Cover letter, preferably with your company letterhead, stating:
    • The tests required.
    • Each sample’s description.
    • The sample markings.
Fees and payment
  • Payment in advance is required. You may use any of the following methods:

Samples Note: Please do not submit your samples until the Laboratory has confirmed your request is accepted.

  1. Your samples should be:
    • Properly packed.
    • Clearly labelled.
    • Inclusive of at least 120 cigarette sticks from the same production batch.
  2. Mark your samples for attention to "Cigarette Testing Laboratory - Applied Sciences Group".
  3. You can send them in by post, courier or in person to:

Collecting your report

Electronic copy of the report will be sent to your email.

Withdrawal from testing

If you wish to withdraw your sample from testing, you are required to give written notice to the Cigarette Testing Laboratory within 3 working days of submission.

You will be charged for any services performed and costs incurred before your withdrawal.
